There is a number of terms for age-related attractions that do not rely on rigid descriptions of age groups one is attracted to. Rather, they deal with categories of youth and adults, attractions relative to own age group, the number and intensity of other chronophilias one might have, etc.
Minor and youth attraction
See MAP flag, Other MAP flags.
Adult attraction
There are several commonly used terms for adult attraction.
Adult attracted person is often abbreviated to AAP. There are flags that correspond to no special term other than that:
The term adophilia was coined in 2022 by Mediocervidae. Existing adophilia flags:
The term adelian was coined by Max in 2021.
Adult attracted minors
Adult attracted minors (typically abbreviated as AAMs) are a subcategory of adult attracted people. Just as any other age group, youth is expected to be primarily attracted to own peers and adult attraction in young people is treated as paraphiliac.
The most popular AAM flag was made in 2018 by Cherry. In 2020, Pappy made an edit to it for explicit inclusion of nonbinary adults.
Alternative AAM flags:
See the AAM category for more flags.
Adult and minor/youth attractions combined
Bi-aionic is an uncommon terms that refers to someone experiencing both minor and adult attraction. This identity doesn't have a flag so far.
Some AAMs experience minor attraction. An AAM who is also minor attracted may be referred to as AAMAP.
Relative to one's age
Peer, junior and senior
Peer attraction
Attraction to people of similar age to one's own is may be referred to as "peer attraction", "homochronian attraction" or "pariophilia". Out of those three, "homochronian" implies exclusive peer attraction (similarly to how "homosexual" implies exclusive same-gender attraction), and the other two terms don't carry such implications.
Junior attraction
Attraction to people noticeably younger than oneself may be referred to as "juniophilia".
Senior attraction
Attraction to people noticeably older than oneself may be referred to as "seniophilia".
Other relative to one's own age
Other
Chronian
Chronian terms were coined by Tumblr user multiversialcoining to be used in conjunction with standard chronophilia terms to provide the wider context to one's chronophilia such us relation to one's age or whether that chronophilia exclusive or non-eclusive[1]. Some of the labels, however, function similarly to standard chronophilia terms (i.e define the age range of attraction).
