The color of the symbol is a reference to the neuropara flag :neuropara: .

Red means isolation, problems integrating into the society or in the para community. Blue means self hate, compulsive sexual behavior, stress, and other things typically grouped under "paraphiliac disorder".

In contrast to them, yellow means para community help and support, and teal means self acceptance and pride.

Black means a potential for further progress.

This is not a pro recovery flag, but it may be used by anyone regardless of their views on recovery."
