- For any apto individual who is attracted to girls/women/females/fem-aligned/Lunarian individuals, and feels that the attraction is similar to/exactly like same-gender attraction.
- The gender of attraction is defined loosely and can be replaced with any term, so long as the one holding the sapphiapto label feels that it fits. Girls/women/females/fem-aligned/Lunarian are not used as synonyms but as suggestions with sometimes overlapping meanings.
Aptophilia (or cofortiphilia) is attraction to grooming someone.
Grooming is the act of purposefully gaining trust of a vulnerable person in order to manipulate and/or coerce them into an exploitative relationship. It's often used specifically for adults grooming youth into a sexual relationship, but it's not limited to it.
