The opposite of paraphilia is ''normophilia'' (socially normative attraction). An attraction can be both paraphiliac and a normophiliac due to variety of reasons:
* it's normalized in one parts of the world and is considered a perversion in other ones (e.g. homosexuality)
* it lies on the border between the commonly accepted and frowned upon (e.g. autobiastophilia: fantasies about being raped are recognized amongst most common ones, yet there's a continuous flow of rhetoric painting them as harmful in themselves or being a symptom of larger societal problems)
* it is considered paraphilic in one category of people and normophilic in the other (e.g. hebephilia is the norm as peer attraction, but a paraphilia as a minor attraction)
* it is considered paraphilic as one major type of attraction but normophilic as an other (e.g. peer gerontophilia in normophilic romantically, pretty much like any other chronophilia, but -->
