Fictophilia is attraction to fiction. It can be used in a variety of meanings:
- Exclusive or primary attraction to fiction.
- Exclusive or primary attraction to fictional version of one type, or a variety, of subjects of attraction. Prefix ficto is commonly used to denote that some attraction is mostly experienced to the fictional versions of the subject, e.g. fictozoophilia (attraction to fictional animals).
- Attraction to beings that only exist in fiction, e.g. angels, dragons.
