Due to the ZETA movement's active involvement in the zoophile community building, these flags are often regarded as the official zoo flags[2].
Origins
The first version of the ZETA flag, without the star, was created during a project run by a Twitter ZETA activist KZ in spring of 2020. In mid April he made several polls about the potential flag design[3][4], and his followers voted. On May 3 he announced a version that won[5]. According to his explanation[6], the brown color represents land animals, the green represents avians, reptiles & amphibians, and the blue represents marine life. The four pointed star was an initiative of another Twitter user, KometSF, who proposed it in reference to four-legged animals[7]. Coloring it white indicates purity[8].
According to KZ, he started this project because he could not find a prior zoo flag[9].
